Being a famous Dutch person purely because you were André Hazes Jr.’s free-for-all for a few months: it’s all a bit embarrassing. Sarah van Soelen thinks differently; they even exploit it completely. Every now and then she is spewing her bile about her egomaniac ex-boyfriend in an interview.
‘Super sweet from Rachel’
According to Rachel Hazes, Sarah and her family ensured that André ended up in a clinic last year credits she is only too happy to receive it. “Yes, she says that every time and I think it’s super sweet that she does that. I think Rachel is a great woman and I always will.”
She continues in the Party: “Coincidentally, someone just asked me how I feel about helping André go to rehab. My answer is that I think it is a normal thing, because André was my love at the time, my boyfriend, and then you do that for each other.”
Drink and drugs
André used to be a nice guy, she says. “In the beginning we were able to talk to each other very well about the misery and why you did the things you did. If I can help with that, I will. Even if it’s the neighbor, it doesn’t matter to me. And certainly André. You don’t want to see someone broken.”
Sarah finds it reprehensible that people like Yvonne Coldeweijer keep saying that she is a snuffbox herself. “It’s a shame that things are sometimes taken so badly that I was also on alcohol and drugs and still am. I think you really have no idea.”
Sneak at Mo
Of course, an interview with Sarah is not complete without a sneer at Monique Westenberg, who is usually André’s girlfriend. “André’s ex is then praised to the heavens, which is fine, but people should not forget that she was unable to get him to rehab for seven years and I was able to do so. So which intention is pure?”
She concludes: “By the way, I’m not saying that she isn’t, not at all, because they are back together and it will be completely fine for what they think is right.”
