Rammstein performed three times in a row in the sold-out Olympic Stadium in Berlin. Of course also a home game for the Berlin group. Not surprisingly, Lindemann-Ex Sophia Thomalla was also there. The presenter had tried to protect the singer several times in the past few weeks on social media with statements against the allegations of several young women that they had been deceived by the Rammstein frontman, made docile with drugs and, in some cases, sexually abused.
Now Sophia’s mother, the actress Simone Thomalla, was also seen at a band concert in Berlin, as can be read in “Merkur”. The 58-year-old should know Till Lindemann better because of her daughter Sophia’s short relationship with the musician. She had not commented on the allegations against Lindemann in advance. Nothing is known of a reaction to the hard rock formation’s concert either.
Instead, there was a video of the gig in the Olympic Stadium on Instagram. Thomalla was apparently in the crowd, in the background you can hear the Rammstein classic “Sonne”.
The online reaction to the post was mixed. Some users felt the action as unfortunate solidarity with a suspected musician. Many wrote that this was a disappointing statement. Some also defended Thomalla, mentioning that they may know Lindemann much better than the media public. In the run-up to the concert, some people had demonstrated for the cancellation of the concert due to the allegations against the band (an accusation against keyboardist Flake was recently also known) and campaigned for the safety of young visitors.
Rammstein recently published a statement on Instagram, which reproduces the wording of a message from their lawyers after a court ruling on a text about the band in the “Spiegel”: “No statement by the witnesses, who have given their statements under oath or made to the SPIEGEL authors, bears the suspicion that women at Rammstein concerts were drugged with knockout drops/alcohol/drugs in order to be able to perform sexual acts on them.”
