not impressed with punishment’

Glennis Grace’s 16-year-old son, Anthony, is not very impressed with the punishment he received for his Jumbo violence. That impression has Aran Bade, star reporter of RTL Boulevard.

After Glennis Grace, her 16-year-old son Anthony has now also heard what punishment he will receive for their explosion of violence in the Jumbo: 120 hours of community service and 35 hours of aggression training. RTL Boulevard reporter Aran Bade was there when the judge ruled. “It’s actually the first time we’ve seen him, isn’t it?”

fearless

Aran hasn’t seen that boy in a long time. “I saw him on America’s Got Talent a while ago when he went with Glennis for that adventure in America. Now he is a tall boy, two heads taller than Glennis.”

Did Anthony appear humble? “He made a very fearless and intrepid impression beforehand. Really the feeling of: I hear it. He did a box on his shoulder and a box to his boyfriend.”

‘Sorry’

That boyfriend, who also fought in the Jumbo, did apologize. Aran: “That boyfriend, and we know that from Korver, who assists the victims, came to them at the first hearing. He then said: ‘I am sorry and I am very sorry for the suffering that has been caused to you. I really care about that.’”

He continues: “That made a deep impression on Korver and the victims. Korver said today, “If only Glennis’s son had done that too.” That meant a lot to them.”

Does it get through?

Aran wonders if Anthony has any effect on having to go to court. “He was also involved in this case… He heard his sentence, the verdict and at one point he also looked occasionally at Glennis, his mother who was also present, and then urged him to look back. That’s how he actually heard his punishment.”

He continues: “I have to say: I hope it gets through to him, because I wonder that very much.”

Not changed

It doesn’t look good according to Aran. “The people in the Jordan say, ‘We still see the same boy.’ He rides around there on a very big black cross bike. Hope that changes. Such aggression training can contribute to that and he should follow it.”

Anthony is not allowed to enter the Jumbo for six months. “I hope he doesn’t come back on the first day after that. I hope something really changes. If you have to believe the people in the Jordaan, they have a hard head in it, but I hope Glennis can guide her son.”
