Finally relax! The pros are free on Thursday. At least a majority of them.
Coach Urs Fischer (56) tough as nails: “Some people need to catch up. I will lead the training.”
Of the ten new signings, defender Diogo Leite (23/on loan from FC Porto) and midfielder Morten Thorsby (26/Sampdoria Genoa), who was only signed on Tuesday, have to play. Reason: training deficit!
This means that the Norwegian continues to work extra shifts. At the end of the Union camp in Austria, he was hit twice by fitness trainer Martin Krüger (42).
Physically, Thorsby looks pretty good together. But the lack of game practice is noticeable. Fischer: “We try to integrate him as quickly as possible so that he understands our principles as quickly as possible.”
Compatriot Julian Ryerson (24), who knows Thorsby well from the Norwegian national team, will help with this. Fischer: “Obviously that will help. But it is important that the entire team welcomes new players.”
