The Norwegian Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold won the sprint in Hochfilzen. Sweden’s Elvira Öberg came second ahead of Justine Braisaz-Bouchet from France. The German team was unable to take part in the medal race without Franziska Preuß, who was ill.
The German biathlon team suffered a setback at the start of the World Cup in Antholz. Without the overall leader Franziska Preuß, who was ill, the German biathletes had no chance in the end when Norwegian Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold won. The best German was Vanessa Voigt, who missed the top ten.
Tandrevold error-free
Tandrevold (20:59.90m) remained without a mistake in both stages and delivered the fastest time on the course. The reward was victory. Second fastest was the Swede Elvira Öberg (+4.9 seconds). The French Justine Braisaz-Bouchet finished third (+19.70).
German runners with no chance of a podium
Among the German runners, Vanessa Voigt (1 penalty loop / +1:11.80m) was the fastest in 14th place. Despite two penalties, Sophia Schneider was the second best German (+1:38.10m) in 25th place. Selina Grotian (2 / +1:51.50m) just missed out on the top 30. Janina Hettick-Walz (43rd / +2 :02.80m) clearly missed the top 30 after two penalties.
The Frenchwoman Lou Jeanmonnot, who ran in the sprint with the red jersey of the overall leader, had to accept a setback. Two penalties were too many to be able to attack at the front. She ended up 15th (+1:12.50m).
