The skiers of the Norwegian men’s sprint team competing in Lahti have been infected with corona.

Sprint team coach Airild Monsen told NRK.

– All tests are positive. Yesterday was the first Håvard Solås Taugböl. Then Erik Valnes, Pål Golberg, Sindre Skar and today Johannes Kläbo.

Tracing your own work

The Norwegian Ski Association is investigating the situation of other skiers.

The origin of the infections is difficult to assess, as the athletes traveled home from the Olympic bubble. Some were seen in the Stadion Sprint competition in Helsinki and then in Lahti.

National team doctor Øystein Andersen opened the situation to NRK.

– All skiers in Lahti have been tested with a PCR test, and we are waiting for the results. In the worst case, the season for those infected is over. At best, they can compete with Falun in Sweden.

The World Cup continues this week in Norway.

Kläbo focuses on the essentials

The positive test result disappointed the skiers, but the sprint king Kläbo takes it appropriately.

– In my small world this is unfortunate, but in the big picture in the middle of all the events this is small. Looks like my season is over. I will now focus only on healing.
