Norwegian Agnes Waade fled because her home was unsafe

The sad fate of Norwegian Agnes Waade is the subject of a documentary series.

In the early 1980s, Agnes was admitted to Gaustad Hospital in Oslo. He also started learning sign language with enthusiasm. Over

At the beginning of his investigations, the reporter Tore Strømøy thought he knew what Norwegian Agnes Waaden (1927–1990) was the case.

He tells about his thoughts in today ending The Riddle of Agnes Waade in the documentary series.

Tore believed that Agnes had been wrongly diagnosed and labeled as weak-minded for no reason, who was denied the right to primary school. Instead of studying, Agnes had ruined her family on the farm, was exhausted and wanted to leave. That’s why he disappeared from this since 1980, eventually more than 30 times. Fifty-year-old Agnes was persistently searched for in the Leksvik area, so that she could always be returned to her home, where she did not want to return. There he often had to be alone and was powerless when the men from the village arrived.

A few women from Leksvik got fed up with the fact that the municipality and the authorities did nothing to improve Agnes’ situation. Thanks to them, Agnes’ fate was reported in a national publication, and Agnes got help for a while. Over

In reality, the fate of speechless Agnes was even more dire. In the last episode of his documentary series, Tore visits a woman’s grave. That’s where Agnes ended up prematurely, and no one knows for sure why. The date of death, October 2nd, is also just a guess.

It is known that the defenseless Agnes, who was raped several times during her life by men from Leksvik, was missing for almost a year before her body was found.

Tore works hard to get contemporaries to tell how badly Agnes was treated according to their imaginations. Over

Now Tore asks if the last disappearance was somehow connected to a man whose name he has come across many times during the investigation. The man was suspected of rape. According to the documentary, he had molested young girls and exposed himself to them.

– Five people who don’t want to be on TV said that a man kidnapped Agnes. He picked Agnes up from her home and took her to the cabin, where Agnes was found scared, Tore reveals.

The documentary tells that the abduction was not the only thing done by the now deceased man.

Many believe that Agnes spent the best years of her life after leaving Leksvik for a while, where she was returned, however, because the municipal authorities did not want to pay for her care elsewhere. Over

Former namesake Per Rostad admits to Tore that the man was never questioned. He pleads that no one reported the man to the police.

– In retrospect, you can say that there were many shortcomings in the handling of the case, he admits.
