Halfvarsson was the only one to challenge the Norwegians. As many as five skiers came from Norway in the top six.

Iivo Niskanen was the best of the Finns. He was split tenth in Britain Andrew Musgraven with. The duo missed the top of the finish line by 51 seconds.

Award ceremony

After the race, a really special prize-giving was seen.

Niskanen was awarded the prize for winning the Crystal Ball World Travel Normal Cup, the so-called distance cup.

Niskanen was third in the overall World Cup. Norwegian Johannes Kläbo was number one in Russia Alexander Bolshunov two.

However, Kläbo was at home due to the coronavirus and Bolshunov was missing from the podium because Russian skiers are now not seen at ski races due to Russian hostilities.

As a result, Niskanen stood in Falun twice at night in two awards ceremonies. The other podiums gaped.

Other Finnish skiers were tormented by VSport’s broadcast.

– My back was a little sore. It has been pretty sore since Holmenkollen, coming in at 14 Remi Lindholm said.

Lindholm still had a sense of humor when asked about his thoughts on the future.

– I think there would be some messages tomorrow. I guess you could go there, Lindholm replied.

Ranked 39th Markus Vuorela also complained about his skiing condition.

– Didn’t feel terribly good. I missed Holmenkollen because of a small flu. And now it felt like the mask on his head had skied, Vuorela regretted.
