According to the organizations, there is plenty to discover in North Limburg: “On both sides of the Maas are unique nature reserves, with the National Park De Maasduinen and the UNESCO area De Maasheggen as the most appealing examples.” A spokesperson said that the campaign will hopefully make more visitors aware that the Meuse is not a physical border, but that it has a lot to offer. “Our goal is for people to think: we’ll come back and then we’ll go to the other side.” The same also applies to tourists from, for example, Germany, Belgium and the Randstad: “The area is bigger than you think, we especially hope that people will come back.”
