On the final day of the World Indoor Championships, the Dutch women’s relay in the 4×400 meters took silver behind Jamaica. The men took bronze in the same event.
With the women it was Femke Bol who took care of silver in the last 30 meters. The team also consisted of Lieke Klaver (Enkhuizen), Eveline Saalberg and Lisanne de Witte (Heiloo). In a time of 3.28.57 they took silver just before Poland.
Iron strength Van Diepen
Tony van Diepen from Heerhugowaard won bronze for the men. In a fantastic last lap he managed to win a medal for the Netherlands. The team clocked a time of 3.06.90. Taymir Burnet, Nick Smidt and Terrence Agard were the other runners.
