The Nord Security company, known in particular for its NordVPN software, today announced a fundraising of 100 million dollars (91 million euros). This first fundraising allows Lithuanian society to enter the circle – no longer so closed – of European unicorns.
Founded in 2012 in Vilnius, it has 1,700 employees, to which will be added 200 new people who will soon be recruited. Nord Security thus claims the status of the largest employer in technologies in the Lithuanian capital.

” Ten years ago, we set out to create security and privacy tools that would help create a safer and more secure online future. Today, millions of people trust our products every day to protect them,” says Tom Okman, co-founder of Nord Security.
Valued at 1.6 billion dollars (1.47 billion euros), the millions collected should allow Nord Security to maintain its growth. It will focus on winning new customers and conquering new countries for its tools intended for individuals and businesses.
Currently installed in some twenty countries, its various services have 15 million users. If it is best known for its NordVPN software, Nord Security also markets NordLocker which is a secure storage solution in the cloud, NordPass, a password manager.
