Nordstrom promotes Deniz Anders to marketing director

US retailer Nordstrom Inc. has appointed Deniz Anders as senior vice president and chief marketing officer. She succeeded Scott Meden, who announced his resignation earlier this year.

Anders has been with the company for 22 years and was vice president of marketing until her promotion, which was announced Wednesday. In her new role, she is now responsible for “all of the company’s marketing activities, including brand programs, digital marketing, creative strategy and corporate affairs.”

Nordstrom has also filled another management position: Nina Barjesteh, as President, Nordstrom Product Group, will be responsible for the group’s own brands in the future. She comes from retailer Dick’s Sporting Goods, where she most recently served as senior vice president of product development and design.
