Nordic World Ski Championships: women ski jumpers around Althaus qualified for World Cup singles

The German ski jumpers around the Olympic silver medalist Katharina Althaus mastered the qualification for the individual World Championships on the normal hill in Planica. As the best German, Althaus jumped 98.5 meters and thus took second place.

Anna Rupprecht (6th), Selina Freitag (12th) and Luisa Görlich (20th) also had no trouble making it into the top 40. The day’s win went to Anna Odine Stroem from Norway.

On Thursday (5 p.m.) she is considered one of the favorites for the first ski jumping gold of this World Championships, alongside Althaus and the Austrian Eva Pinkelnig. The defending champion is the Slovenian Ema Klinec. At the World Championships in ski jumping enthusiastic Slovenia, numerous spectators are expected, especially at the hill. Althaus has already collected a few medals at major events, but has not yet been able to win a gold medal in individual competitions.
