At the home World Cup in Schonach, Germany’s strongest Nordic combined athletes are on course for the podium after the jump. The solo entertainer is in front.
Both men and women compete in Nordic combined this weekend in Schonach in the Black Forest. The German women were in good form again at the beginning of Saturday morning (February 11th, 2023) after a short break in competition: Svenja Würth came second in jumping ahead of Jenny Nowak.
The two start the race directly behind the Noko World Cup dominator Gyda Westvold Hansen. The Norwegian, who is also the strongest runner in the field, is already 28 seconds ahead of Würth. From 12.45 p.m. (in the Sportschau live ticker) the women will then compete in the 5-kilometer run.

Würth in particular had already shown himself to be in great shape in the training jumps on the normal hill in the Black Forest. She jumped 97 meters down to the middle of the competition, putting 17 seconds between herself and Nowak.
Germany’s most successful combined athlete so far this winter, Nathalie Armbruster, had to struggle with that. She will go into the cross-country in seventh place (42 seconds back). Westvold Hansen was right behind her: She landed at 101.5 meters, unmatched by the other athletes – and thus secured the half-time lead.
