Just a workout
Before the competition, the athletes only had one jump to familiarize themselves with the hill in Lillehammer. A circumstance that could certainly become a sticking point for one or the other. Jarl Magnus Riiber won ahead of Ryota Yamamoto and Mario Seidl.

The ÖSV team
The situation is completely different for the newcomer to the ÖSV team. Christian Deuschl, who is at the start for Lukas Greiderer in Lillehammer, is considered an excellent jumper and should normally be able to get involved in the jump round, but loses too much ground in cross-country skiing to really get to the front. The same applies to the established Mario Seidl, who is not yet in the running form that is needed for the podium. Stefan Rettenegger, Franz-Josef Rehrl, Martin Fritz as well as Johannes Lamparter and Philipp Orter will complete the Austrian team.

Schanze as a sticking point
For the Germans, the form on the hill should be the big sticking point again today. Julian Schmid and Manuel Faißt have been in the most stable form over the weekends so far. Vinzenz Geiger, Fabian Rießle, Johannes Rydzek, Eric Frenzel and Jakob Lange, on the other hand, struggled. Youngster Tristan Sommerfeldt is also considered to be a weaker jumper.

Schmid has to let Norwegians pass
A lot has happened in the overall standings since Saturday. Julian Schmid was in top form again, but that wasn’t enough to fend off the Norwegians. The new man in yellow is Jarl Magnus Riiber. Jens Lurås Oftebro also overtook the German after his win on Saturday.
