Mick Schumacher is criticized in Formula 1 for some driving errors. The Haas driver had another accident in Monaco. Norbert Haug still believes in a timely increase.
For Mick Schumacher, Formula 1 is not going well. In Monaco, the 23-year-old crashed his car into the crash barriers. Consequently, the German hope again missed his first points in the premier class.
“Wanting too much too quickly is certainly not Mick Schumacher’s way,” Norbert Haug said to the “Editorial Network Germany” on the once again disappointing performance of the former Formula 2 champion.
Haug believes in the first Schumacher points
“But crashing Monaco twice in a row in two years does not result in a positive exclamation mark in the team bosses’ notebooks, rather a question mark,” the former Mercedes motorsport boss continued.
Haug called for a change in approach. “Mick will achieve more with less in the future, pushing too much never leads to desired results,” said the 69-year-old.
Despite the unsuccessful start to the season, Haug is far from having any serious concerns. “But Mick is intelligent and talented enough to learn this lesson. I’m sure you will soon see points from him,” said the Formula 1 connoisseur.
Vettel protects Schumacher
After the Monaco GP, Schumacher also received support from his compatriot Sebastian Vettel.
“The most important thing is that he’s doing well,” said Heppenheimer, defending Schumacher after the nasty accident: “I have no doubt that he can do more than he’s showing. But I think you have to give him a try leave it alone for a bit.”
Schumacher’s next chance is at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix (June 10-12).
