The plastic artist tells us about her passion for art, her expressionist style, her projects and her advice for those who want to get started in the world of art.
Nora Parejas is an artist who dedicates herself to painting and teaching. Her work is characterized by portraits that look directly at the viewer, seeking to provoke a connection and surrender. Her style is expressionist, gestural and poetic, and she uses various techniques, with oil painting being her favorite at the moment.
His interest in art arose from the need to look for something new, realities different from his own. “Painting immerses me in a world that has no limits, I can be me, play, come and go as many times as I want. Many times I use it as an escape, from what surrounds me and even from myself. Painting and creating allow me to reach my essence or at least try and I love it, it seduces me, I trust, I surrender. I don’t care about the result,” says Nora.
Teaching or “accompanying” as she prefers to call it, came more from the push of the viewer, the gaze of others in return for her way of speaking, from making some live video or video explaining her art. “I can remember the exact moment when a Facebook follower wrote to me to tell me that I had to dedicate myself to transmitting what I knew, to giving workshops, I wish I remembered her name… accompanying artists or anyone who wants to try to be one gives me equal or more satisfaction Painting my own works is a rich feedback exercise that requires me to always be alert and permeable. Accompanying another person who looks differently, feels and reacts differently forces me to continue learning, this way we are all a little better… the formula is perfect,” she says.
Among her future projects is being able to merge her role as an ontological coach and that of a visual artist, bringing her art closer to different spaces with easily accessible projects tailored to whoever wants it. This project involves the buyer, getting to know him, discovering what his point of view is, making him part of the process, making sure that the work not only represents her, but both of us. Another project is to write a book “serArte”, creativity believes that it is the key that opens all doors. Her current challenge is to use all the tools that art offers her to move forward.
His advice for those who want to get started in the world of art is that if it crosses your mind it is completely possible, that you do not hesitate, that you give yourself, that you do with what you have, that you do not have to be a millionaire to make art, that Be kind to your failures, because you are going to have them, allow yourself to enjoy the process, since it has no end.
