A hand from the mayor and from all council members. With this, the Noordenveld municipal council installed the second children’s advisory council.
The installation was followed from the public gallery by the parents of the children. In 2022, the children’s advisory council was the result of the Democracity game, in which most primary schools in Noordenveld have been participating for years. Two pupils from almost all schools in the municipality were installed.
It is a game in which students build a fictional city together. In preparation for this, children receive guest lessons about Dutch democracy and the role of the municipal council.
That is why in the early summer of 2022 he asked pupils from group seven who wanted to become a member of the children’s advisory council that was to be set up. Because only two children can participate per school, some schools had to draw lots.
Last year, the children discussed, among other things, road safety in the municipality of Noordenveld. Next year, the children will also talk about current topics that play a role in the municipality of Noordenveld.
