The 53-year-old Peggy van Vliet from Zuidhorn (province of Groningen) is the new ‘boss’ in the Noordenveld town hall. She will be the new municipal secretary and general manager.
After the departure of Marinus van der Wal, the municipality of Noordenveld had been looking for a replacement since December last year. In the meantime, Greta Hoving took over the position.
At the moment, Van Vliet is still a lobby coordinator at the province of Overijssel and she manages a team of lobbyists in Düsseldorf, Brussels and The Hague. Van Vliet previously gained experience as an (interim) manager in various municipalities, including the municipality of Oss.
Van Vliet was selected from 24 applicants. The selection committee describes Van Vliet as ‘warm, firm and consistent’.
The new municipal secretary will start work on 15 August.
