Noordenveld today concludes the first week of RTV Drenthe election debates. The party leaders will discuss housing in Peize-Zuid and the possible arrival of a solar park at Zuidvelde.
The housing plan on the south side of Peize concerns about 150 new homes. But the plans of the municipal council came under criticism from local residents, who believe that the construction is at the expense of nature. Opponents also have questions about water management and road safety.
The discussion that is going on in and around Zuidvelde is about a planned solar park. That would initially be 135 hectares, but that area has been adjusted to 74 hectares due to criticism. Opponents of the park fear, among other things, the consequences for the landscape and the disappearance of the panoramic view.

The Noordenveld debate is the fourth of a total of twelve election debates organized by RTV Drenthe. They last about 40 minutes and are broadcast live on the Facebook page and website of RTV Drenthe.
All debates can be followed on the RTV Drenthe Facebook page and website. Afterwards they will be repeated on TV Drenthe at 5 p.m., and later in the evening at 7 p.m., 9 p.m. and 11 p.m.
