Fast-track singer Nooralotta Neziri, 30, broke down in tears during the live broadcast of Yle’s Elämäni Biisi program.
Neziri narrated Apulanna’s Loki’s Päää Lokki song as his own song. The song was performed by the artist in the program Kashmir.
Neziri said that the background of the song selection was the difficulties of 2021. At that time, he ran fourth in the European Indoor Championships. During the season, the then Finnish record was also set.
Everything looked good. The Tokyo Olympics are ahead.
– I thought then, after the Halli season, going towards the Olympics, that Neziri will show what it is capable of. Then the really bad back pains started.
Nezir’s pains grew so severe that he had to take a break from training.
In the end, the diagnosis was a stress fracture of the back, but the sprinter was still able to run the display race for the Olympics. Neziri made his coach at the time Petteri Jousteen with a rehabilitation program that helped.
Neziri got a place in Tokyo based on his ranking. Three weeks before the start of the Olympics, Neziri injured his hamstring.
– It was due to that stress fracture. I just remember that I left there after training, I listened to this song and I cried my eyes out. Bitterness, sadness and envy crystallized in this, but in its own way, hope.
Neziri told the program that he is currently healthy. He started training for the next season two weeks ago.
