The Finnish textile group Marimekko has reorganized its sales department. As part of the structural reform, two sales regions were created that will be managed by their own managers in the future. The West region includes Finland, Scandinavia, EMEA – i.e. the rest of Europe, the Middle East and Africa – as well as North America, the East region the Asia-Pacific region, the company announced on Monday. Marimekko had already announced at the beginning of May that Chief Sales Officer Dan Trapp would be leaving the group on August 2nd.
A suitable candidate has already been found for one of the two new management positions: Marimekko announced that Noora Laurila will assume the position of Senior Vice President, Sales, Region West, on September 14. The 39-year-old comes from the cosmetics group L’Oreal, where she has held various key roles in Finland and the rest of the Nordic countries since 2008.
Laurila has “far-reaching economic knowledge and experience in the management and development of sales, product range and brand,” said her future employer. In her new position, she will report directly to CEO Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko and will be part of Marimekko’s management team. The search for a sales manager for the East region is still ongoing.
