Noora Fagerström suffers from a bad phobia: “Sometimes I even have a panic attack”

MP Noora Fagerström tells her social media followers in more detail about her phobia.

Member of Parliament of the Coalition and Deal– and Leijonanluola Finland familiar from the programs Noora Fagerström was recently on a business trip in Kenya. Fagerström says in her Instagram post that she has had a bad fear of flying since her children were born.

Fagerström says that for him, the fear of flying can sometimes lead to a panic attack.

– Sometimes I even have a panic attack when there is severe turbulence. Your hands sweat, your heart beats, you feel dizzy, your throat tightens, you cry and you have the feeling that life will end soon. And you can’t really do anything about it in that situation, other than try to breathe deeply and calm down, says the MP in his post.

– I recount in my mind the things I am grateful for. I wonder what kind of mother, wife and friend I will be remembered as. This really doesn’t make it any easier, and I always try to think of something positive and nice. However, I quickly find myself returning to death. If the flight weather is stable, I can function completely normally and I often fall asleep, he continues.

Fagerström says that the fear of flying hit hard on the flight to Kenya as well.

– On this particular flight, I had a panic attack when we went to see the operations of a company further away.

– We flew through the rain, and the plane pitched noticeably. As soon as the wheels of the plane hit the ground, I was grateful for life. However, a certain kind of paralysis and fatigue immediately struck, which lasted for a while. After that, however, it was easy to smile – I survived again with one more experience!

Fagerström is not going to miss flying in the future, despite his fear of flying. He just hopes to get rid of his phobia soon.

– I’ve tried meditating, breathing, getting my thoughts elsewhere, researched and calmed myself, and gone through the issue in therapy. Sometimes also had a glass of wine before the flight. I haven’t tried tranquilizers, because I don’t want to be in pain, he says.
