After her victory in the monobob, Laura Nolte also won the World Cup dress rehearsal in the two-man bob. The woman from Winterberg confidently prevailed at the World Cup in Altenberg with pusher Deborah Levi (Potsdam) ahead of Kim Kalicki (Wiesbaden), who had recently won one of the two competitions in Sigulda.
It was a very special victory for the duo Nolte/Levi, who won Olympic gold together in 2022: Levi celebrated her comeback in the Eastern Ore Mountains after almost two years out of competition due to cartilage damage. This put Levi in position in time for a World Cup start in Nolte’s home town of Winterberg next week.
Behind Nolte/Levi, who achieved the clear best time in both runs, Kalicki and pusher Anabel Galander (Magdeburg) were an impressive 64 hundredths behind. European champion Lisa Buckwitz (Oberhof), who was in third place after the first run, only came ninth after a seemingly dangerous fall in the final.
On Saturday Nolte clinched her first win of the season in the Monobob World Cup in Altenberg. Buckwitz took third place.
