Not only Liam Gallagher is currently working on the release of a new record. His brother and ex-Oasis colleague Noel Gallagher is also in the final stages of a music project. He announced that he would take a new musical direction and promised “orchestral” sounds.

The album will again be made in collaboration with his band Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds. There have already been three albums in this formation, the most recent being WHO BUILT THE MOON? was released in 2017. Most recently, the musician released a demo for the single “Trying To Find A World That’s Been And Gone: Part 1” earlier this year. At the time he also announced that he had already written all the tracks for the upcoming album and had produced demo recordings.

The record should have a special “vibe”.

The ex-Oasis guitarist has been busy working on the album since January. Now he flashed some details about the record and also explained that there are ten songs in total, “six of them contain string instruments”. This new influence gives the whole thing a special “vibe”.

The style change was a “conscious decision”

The musician “consciously” decided to follow the “quite electronic and psychedelic” predecessor with a more “orchestral” sound. When he wrote the songs for the long player, he “only heard strings and choirs.” The songwriting is said to have taken him about a year.

“One of the best songs I’ve ever written”

He hasn’t decided on a title yet. What is certain, however, is that the track “Dead To The World” is one of the “best songs I’ve ever written”. The atmosphere is reminiscent of the 1969 film Midnight Cowboy, says Gallagher. The reactions from his environment have so far been extremely positive: “[Der Song] gives people goosebumps,” he reports.

Noel Gallagher had announced that he wanted to film the making of the new album at Abbey Road Studios.

It was recently announced that his guitar, which was destroyed in an argument with his brother on the night of the Oasis separation, is to be auctioned off in May. Gallagher also recently lashed out at Harry Styles again, accusing him of having nothing to do with music.
