Noel Gallagher is said to have made a dance track with CamelPhat

The unfinished song sounds “as if the Beatles had traveled to India”.

Former Oasis member Noel Gallagher started a number of projects with young artists during the lockdown period during the Corona pandemic – but only completed a few of them. Among the half-finished projects is probably a dance track with the DJ duo CamelPhat, as music producer Dave Whelan now tells the British newspaper “Daily Star”.

“We also recorded a great piece with Noel that sounds like the Beatles traveled to India,” says Whelan, describing the sound of the song. “The track contains a sitar that we recorded with a very talented Israeli musician.” However, the Oasis singer would have been too busy with his current album COUNCIL SKIES, which was released in June 2023, to continue working on it. The experimental track with CamelPhat was therefore never finished.

The DJ duo is proud of the song, but can’t – and doesn’t want to – continue producing it without Gallagher. They tried five different singers, but it was “only Noel’s voice that sounds right.” Dave Whelan also says in the interview: “At the moment the track isn’t finished yet. We’re happy if Noel wants to finish it for his own music or for us – we’ll definitely respect Noel’s decision.”

In 2020, the music producer duo already worked with the High Flying Birds musician for their single “Not Over Yet”. During the pandemic, Gallagher also collaborated with rapper Dizzee Rascal and Irish singer Imelda May, with whom he released the song “Just One Kiss” in 2021.
