A fierce fire raged in the night from Friday to Saturday at frozen vegetable company Horafrost in the Voermanstraat in Staden. Shortly after midnight the fire broke out in one of the sheds of the company, but when the fire brigade arrived, the flames were already extensively to other parts of the company. A huge smoke development was accompanied by the fire. The city council of Staden calls on residents of Westrozebeke to leave their home. The smoke is not acute toxic, but staying in the smoke for a long time has health consequences.
