Coöperatie Hoogstraten has given the start of the new season, with the traditional sale of the first strawberries. As usual, the eight trays raised 4,000 euros, after which the Cooperative doubled the amount and donated it to a good cause. This year it is the Nadjmi Foundation of the Antwerp top doctor Nasser Nadjmi. Also present: grower Guy Herrijgers, who, together with his son Sven, has a number of specialties, including the white strawberry. And soon he will even come with a banana strawberry.
