Rutger Castricum thinks it is a shame that Khalid & Sophie ignores the news about the second attack on Thierry Baudet. “Unbelievable. It seems like a conscious choice.”
Controversial politician Thierry Baudet has been attacked in public for the second time in a short time. He is in a Groningen café hit on the head with a beer bottle. The news came out yesterday just prior to the EenVandaag election debate. Immediately after that debate, an hour later, Khalid & Sophie started.
Rutger angry
For reasons unknown, Khalid & Sophie did not pay any attention to the news. The broadcast opened with a long speech by Raoul Heertje, who literally almost cried because of his dissatisfaction with the TV debate that was shown just before. Today Inside star Rutger Castricum thinks it is unbelievable.
Rutger can’t believe it. “Khalid & Sophie. First question: Raoul, are you still a floating voter? Who then almost starts crying because of the level of the debate. A politician has been attacked. What excruciatingly bad journalism this is,” he writes in an angry message X.
‘This is bizarre’
Khalid & Sophie have disqualified themselves in the eyes of Rutger. “Discussing a debate with warmed-up words. Unbelievable. It seems to be a conscious choice by the editors to ignore the attack on a politician in the opening. Or missed? Bizarre. Doesn’t such a program deserve a journalistically independent host?”
Singer Tim Knol responds: “Wonderful…”
And investigative journalist Kim van Keken: “No word yet about the attack on Baudet. How is that possible?”
Loathing
Many concerns were expressed in the broadcast of Khalid & Sophie about the advance of the right. Geert Wilders’ PVV is now the largest party in Maurice de Hond’s poll, together with the VVD.
Ton F. van Dijk, investigative journalist and former boss of NPO 1, tweets: “At Khalid & Sophie, those present despise the outcome of the poll. Nobody seems to wonder: why do so many people support a politician like Wilders? And above all: what has the established order done wrong?”
Was pissed off
Wierd Duk, the right-wing conservative star journalist for De Telegraaf, is annoyed. “So disappointing that Jeroen Pauw did not raise that question. He is actually the only one who does not necessarily feel disgusted with Jan Modaal at that table. It was all about a disdain for the common man again, really impossible to film. That will be a hard boomerang.”
Ton: “It is a bubble that you can in a sense compare with Ongehoord, just different principles, but mechanisms are similar.”
