The match between Telstar and Jong AZ had no winner on Friday evening. The North Holland teams drew 1-1. Both goals came in the first half.
The new addition Peter Guinari started at Telstar. At the beginning of the match the defender headed onto the post. In the 22nd minute, Zakaria Eddachouri opened the scoring with a beautiful goal. From the edge of sixteen he curled the ball behind 17-year-old Jong AZ goalkeeper Kiyani Zeggen.
Debut Esteves
Both teams had chances in the attractive first half. A few minutes before half-time, the AZ talents equalized. Newcomer Gonçalo Esteves gave a through ball to Ernest Poku and the attacker managed to score the equalizer. Esteves came over from the Portuguese Sporting CP this winter break.
Just before half time, Youssef El Kachati had a huge opportunity, but he shot the ball wide from close range. With a 1-1 draw, both teams headed to the changing rooms.

The first fifteen minutes of the second half were quite dull, but then it became a bit livelier and Telstar took the initiative. Telstar coach Mike Snoei tried to take control of the match with a triple substitution. That worked a bit, but Jong AZ held on fairly easily.
Final offensive Telstar
With a nice pass from Giousis to Eddachouri, the Telstar striker had a huge opportunity, but his shot went just the wrong side of the post. The home team went looking for the win and pushed Jong AZ behind.
However, Telstar’s final offensive did not really get off the ground. Both teams were mainly combative, but there were no really nice attacks in the final phase.
