Fewer trains will run on many routes on Saturday and no trains at all on some parts of the Dutch track due to staff shortages. The NS previously announced that fewer trains would run on Saturday.
Driving between Utrecht Central and Almere Central until 7.30 pm. no trains. Travelers are advised to travel via Weesp. On the stretch between Groningen and Veendam, there is not even a train running all day. Fewer trains run between Amsterdam Central and Utrecht Central.
In addition, fewer intercity trains are running on the Rotterdam-Utrecht, Alkmaar-Maastricht and Schiphol-Nijmegen routes. There are also fewer sprinters available between Driebergen-Zeist and Uitgeest.
The extra travel time can be up to fifteen minutes. NS calls on travelers to plan their train journey carefully to avoid delays.

Fewer trains next week too
According to the NS, fewer trains will run between Rotterdam, Schiphol and Arnhem from Monday. The NS is not only short of drivers and conductors, but also IT staff, mechanics, security and service employees and shop staff at the stations. There are about eleven hundred vacancies at the railways.
State Secretary Vivianne Heijnen (Infrastructure) previously made it clear to the House of Representatives that the shortages may persist for a longer period of time, even after the summer.
