The Ukraine invasion now also has consequences for the Russian cinema market. It was announced on Monday (February 28), the Walt Disney Company and Warner Bros. have decided to delay the release of films in Russia in response to the country’s invasion of Ukraine.

Disney, on the other hand, announced that it would put all upcoming releases in Russia on hold.

“We will continue to monitor the development of the situation closely,” WarnerMedia said. “We hope for a speedy and peaceful resolution to this tragedy.”

Also Pixar hit is not shown in Russia

A Disney spokesman was more specific: “In light of the unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and the tragic humanitarian crisis, we are halting theatrical releases in Russia, including upcoming Pixar film ‘Turning Red.’ We will make future business decisions based on the evolving situation.”

Disney said it is “working with our NGO partners to provide urgent relief and other humanitarian assistance to refugees.”

After the invasion of Ukraine began, the western community of states reacted with numerous sanctions, including restrictions on Russia’s international banking transactions. Organizations and companies support these measures, and musicians and bands such as Green Bay are also reacting to the situation and canceling concerts.

The Russian national team and Russian clubs have also recently been excluded from UEFA and FIFA competitions. Russia is also not allowed to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest.
