“No Talks” with Benjamin Pavard

Benjamin Pavard and FC Bayern are currently not negotiating an extension of the French vice world champion’s contract, which expires in 2024.

“There are currently no talks with the club,” Pavard told Telefoot.

Instead, the 27-year-old initially focuses on sport. “I’m just concentrating on our goals for the season. I just want to do the best I can, win titles and we’ll see everything else this summer,” said Pavard.

The future of the top performer at FC Bayern is still open. Until a few weeks ago, the signs between Pavard and the German record champions were separating. Then an extension seemed only a matter of time.

Most recently, however, it was said that nothing had been decided in the case – which the professional now confirmed himself.

Departure from Bayern? Several U-turns at Benjamin Pavard

After a mixed first half of the season, Pavard had stabilized under Julian Nagelsmann in the last few weeks – also because he was finally allowed to play in his favorite position in central defense in the chain of three introduced by the ex-coach.

Under Nagelsmann’s successor, Thomas Tuchel, Pavard was back in action on the right-hand side of the back four in the top game against Borussia Dortmund on Saturday (4-2).

Allegedly, regular deployments in the defense center are a condition that Pavard will make of his current – or another – employer in the future.

There shouldn’t be a lack of prospects for Pavard. His management is reportedly in contact with FC Barcelona. His name has also been mentioned at several top clubs in the English Premier League.

Pavard switched from VfB Stuttgart to FC Bayern in 2019 for 35 million euros. So far he has completed 152 competitive games (eleven goals, twelve assists) in the Munich jersey.
