No shipping on Bruges Ring Canal due to oil pollution

The fire brigade is also going on the Ringvaart in Bruges with a boat today to better estimate the pollution. It runs from the Dampoort lock to the cyclist bridge at the marina, where a dam stops the pollution.

For the time being, shipping traffic can no longer pass due to this pollution. Since yesterday afternoon, and that will probably be until the gunk is cleaned up.

It is not the first time that this part of the Ringvaart has been polluted. It is not yet clear where the pollution comes from this time.
