Due to construction work, S-Bahn trains will no longer run between the Friedrichstrasse and Ostbahnhof stations from this Thursday until November 6th.

“Buses run in this section for the S-Bahn lines. Alternatively, regional transport (RE1, RE2, RE7, RE8 and RB23) can also be used in this section,” the railway announced on Monday.

During this time, 100 meters of track and several switches between the Friedrichstrasse and Hackescher Markt stations will be renewed, among other things.

This has an impact on all S-Bahn traffic on the light rail: only the S3 and S9 run every ten minutes between Friedrichstrasse and Zoological Garden during this period.

The railway recommends changing to the Ringbahn, which is also interrupted between Halensee and Gesundbrunnen on the weekend from October 27th to 30th.

The replacement bus service does not stop at Hackescher Markt, but at the tram stop “Spandauer Straße/Marienkirchstraße”.
