The attacker said last Monday that some of the Volendam supporters have been hurting several times. “Sometimes I think about it. Is it my background? Is it because I am Moroccan or because I have a different color than other guys?”
“I didn’t talk about that for three and a half years. I want to say something about it now, because I had to swallow a lot,” said Bilal Ould-Chikh, the top scorer of FC Volendam. He emphasized that the hard core of FC Volendam has always supported it.
The board of FC Volendam now says that there has been a conversation between Bilal Ould-Chikh, trainer Rick Kruys and technical director Patrick Busby. Together they came to the conclusion that this season – and Monday evening against Young Ajax – no incidents have occurred of a racist nature.
Ould-Chikh is said to have spoken because of “a sum of events in earlier seasons,” the club writes on the website.
FC Volendam and Ould-Chikh no longer want to make any announcements about this issue.
