Joy is short-lived

However, the hosts’ glimmer of hope was short-lived: three minutes later, Masaya Okugawa made it 4-1 for East Westphalia. Again Serra wrapped up the success in the middle of the second half (70′), Brian Lasmes and Robin Hack’s goals (86′, 90′ + 1) made the superiority of Arminia more than clear in terms of results.

Bielefeld needs standards

Bielefeld controlled the action from the start and ensured clear conditions early on. Two standard goals brought the early decision. First Serra converted a head after a corner, then Klos also followed up after a corner. The underdog almost made it back after a mistake by Arminia keeper Stefanos Kapino, but Oliver Hüsing cleared before the line (33′).

Goal of the day: Engers’ Kap hits with the heel

After the break, a lively game developed with numerous goal chances. The first used toilets again. The best goal of the day, however, came from the hosts. After a low cross from the right, Kap skilfully netted in with a back-heel under pressure. As the strength of the fifth division team dwindled more and more, Bielefeld also deservedly won at altitude. With the success, the second division ended a 13-game winning streak in competitive games.
