Racing driver Sophia Flörsch continues to chase her first points of the Formula 3 season. Oliver Goethe also went empty-handed in the sprint race at Spielberg.
Flörsch finished 19th in the sprint on a wet track at the fifth stop of the season in Spielberg. The 22-year-old from Munich started from position 21 and crossed the finish line again ahead of her two PHM teammates.
Meanwhile, Oliver Goethe gambled away the great chance of his second podium place in the junior series right at the start. The German-Danish, driving for Trident, didn’t get anywhere at first, dropping from fourth place to 27th place in the meantime.
Formula 3: Flörsch and Goethe are hoping for the main race on Sunday
Shortly before the end of the race, Goethe had to pit again after catching up in midfield due to a puncture, and he finished in 26th place.
The Mercedes-sponsored Estonian Paul Aron took the win in the Prema. Championship leader Gabriel Bortoleto, Goethe’s team colleague at Trident, scored at least one point at the Red Bull Ring by finishing tenth.
On Sunday (8:25 a.m. / Sky) the main race of Formula 3 will take place in Spielberg.
