Regular place lost in 2022/23
Left-back Kieran Tierney is leaving Arsenal temporarily to join Spanish Champions League contenders Real Sociedad. The Basques have loaned the 26-year-old Scotland international for a year – with no option to buy. According to information from the “Telegraph”, a rental fee of around 1.4 million euros will flow and the San Sebastian club will pay Tierney’s full salary.
As a result of knee surgery in spring 2022, he lost his regular place with the Gunners and was only on the field for 776 minutes in 27 Premier League games in the previous season. This season, Tierney was only allowed 14 minutes in the Community Shield win over Manchester City (5-2 on penalties). At Real Sociedad, with a market value of EUR 25 million, he will be one of the most valuable players in the squad in the future.
