No offer for international Gosens yet

After a historic 2022/23 Bundesliga season, 1. FC Union Berlin will appear in the Champions League for the first time next season. In order to be competitive, new players are needed. The transfer rumors about a German international are getting hotter.

The “kicker” had recently reported on Union Berlin’s interest in Robin Gosens. According to the specialist magazine, the players and the club are already in talks that are said to be “well advanced”. However, the negotiations with Inter Milan are still an obstacle.

The 28-year-old still has a contract with the Milanese until 2026. Accordingly, a commitment should not be cheap. The possible transfer fee is estimated at around 15 million euros. Union Berlin is said to have not yet made an official offer for the left-back, according to the “kicker”.

Gosens on loan to Union Berlin?

According to the further report, a loan transaction could be a possible option. Whether Inter Milan wants to get involved with this is uncertain.

Gosens is currently only a reservist with the Nerazzurri. Federico Dimarco is a regular on the left-back position.

With a view to the home European Championship in 2024, Gosens could aim for a change of club. He would certainly get enough game practice at Union. In addition, the 28-year-old could compete with the Iron at the highest international level. In order for a deal to come about, the left foot will probably have to do without money.

Recently, the Premier League clubs AFC Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest were also reportedly interested in the German. However, Gosens is said to have ruled out a move to one of the two English clubs. The hottest lead currently seems to lead to Union Berlin in the Bundesliga.
