Good news for Zoetermeer dog owners, because the dog tax will be abolished in our municipality in 2024. A total of 16 municipalities will stop charging dog taxes this year.

Last year, dog owners paid 75.44 euros in dog tax for one dog in Zoetermeer. So you now keep that amount in your pocket.

Abolition of dog tax in Zoetermeer

On the website petverzekeringen.nl it can be read that 121 of the 342 municipalities (35 percent) will levy dog ​​taxes in 2024. That is 16 fewer than last year, which represents a decrease of 11 percent. Especially in the north of the Netherlands, the dog tax has often been cut off from municipal budgets, while in highly urban municipalities dog tax is still charged proportionately.
