No more damage to bridge due to height detection systems

The systems must ensure that trucks no longer collide with the Fabiola Bridge (the Zwaantjesbrug). That bridge suffered a lot of damage in recent years, concrete girders at the bottom of the bridge were partly exposed. The maximum permitted height is four meters.

The height detection systems now calculate the height of the passing freight traffic. Trucks that are too high are notified via a digital screen along the road and are diverted. A total of 300,000 euros has been made available for the project.
