Four Algerians were arrested on Saturday evening after they stole several telephones, bank cards and watches in the city center of Breda. One of the victims found his phone again thanks to the ‘Find my iPhone’ program and notified the police.
A 21-year-old resident of Breda was walking home after a night out and was approached by two men in English and French on Catharinastraat in Breda. They distracted him by tapping his ankles. Shortly afterwards, his phone was found stolen.
Central Station
Luckily he was close to home, so he started up his computer and opened the ‘Find My iPhone’ search program that will show you where your phone is. He saw his phone move towards the central station.
He then called the police and accompanied them to the station to look for the men. The two were arrested and had one phone in their pocket, which turned out to be stolen, as well as a bank card that one of the men was carrying.
Six other stolen cell phones were found in nearby bushes.
brothers
Earlier that evening, police also received reports of two men who had tried to rob people. They tracked down the two with the help of CCTV. Agents followed them and saw how they hid stolen items in Stadspark Valkenberg. They were arrested earlier that evening.
It is later revealed that the two know each other. Two of the four men, all between 19 and 24 years old, turned out to be brothers. The police therefore assume that they acted as one group. The foursome is trapped.
