‘No longer on TV next season’

The agony is not over for Paul de Leeuw: his program Busje Komt Zo almost flies out of the top 25 viewership. “The chance is small that a third season will be ordered.”

Paul de Leeuw’s TV career is in a gigantic dip. The first season of Busje Komt Zo did well, but the second series of episodes is currently a real disaster. After 510 thousand, 500 thousand and 447 thousand viewers, the fourth episode yesterday reached only 406 thousand viewers (8% market share).

Paul disappoints

This puts Paul in the very last place of the top 25 viewership and that is a really bad performance even with football on the other side. After all, he is on the most watched TV channel in the Netherlands: NPO 1. “The chance seems very small that Van Busje Komt Zo will be ordered for a third season,” says viewing figures expert Tina Nijkamp.

It is really very low viewing figures, according to Tina. “It is even more painful that Paul’s old colleagues from the successful De Kwis score better with a late night repeat on Sunday of their mega hit Even Tot Hier. Hopefully Paul will soon come up with a new program idea with new opportunities for success.”

No contract

Fortunately for BNNVARA, the broadcaster can get rid of Paul fairly easily. “I am still not officially at BNNVARA. I have not been brought back. They say, ‘You can do things for us, but you won’t get a permanent position.’ Times have changed,” he revealed in his podcast a few weeks ago.

However, Paul has a lot of faith in the broadcaster. He says he experiences a ‘club feeling’ that he didn’t have in his one and a half year at RTL 4. “I feel very much at home, because when Paul Witteman stops after his last broadcast, I’ll say: ‘It’s a shame you’re stopping. ‘”

He could have sent something like that if he had still been with RTL? “No.”

Frits does score

Prior to Paul, the Frits Sissing show Between Art and Kitsch performed excellently yesterday. 1.1 million people (22%) watched it and that program was also against football.

The NPO 3 report from Wales – Netherlands was the winner in prime time with 1.7 million viewers (35%). The only other prime-time titles that made it to the top fifteen were Het Perfecte Plaatje in Argentina with 788 thousand viewers (15%) on RTL 4 and Today Inside with 688 thousand viewers (14%) on SBS 6.

Prior to VI, Steenrijk Straatarm attracted 422 thousand viewers (8%).

Viewing figures

Programs that also did not make the top 15 include Khalid and Sophie (602 thousand), Beau (498 thousand), Shownieuws (473 thousand), Tijd voor MAX (466 thousand), Nieuwsuur (443 thousand) and Shownieuws Zomer Edition (290 thousand). ).
