No Italy for Tielemans: the midfielder goes to Aston Villa

The dream fades Youri Tielemans for Milan and Rome. The Belgian has decided to accept the transfer to Aston Villa, thus declining the offers from Manchester United, Arsenal and Galatasaray in addition – precisely – to those arriving from Italy. So the phone call from José Mourinho or the possibility of playing in the Champions League offered by Milan weren’t enough to convince the player to leave England. Bad news for Tiago Pinto and the AC Milan management, who see a possible free-for-money coup vanish.

The agreement between Tielemans and Aston Villa has already been defined, with the midfielder who – as confirmed by The Athletic – is undergoing the usual medical tests. In the next few hours, the Villains will formalize his transfer to Birmingham. In Trigoria and at home Milan, however, the search for a new reinforcement for the median continues. Finding an opportunity at no cost better than the one just faded, however, will not be easy.
