No horse in the corridor anymore… but a few squatters still reached the top 100

Where André van Duin used to always end up at number 1 in the charts during carnival, those times have really changed. Carnival music has much less impact on the Top 100 than it used to. But for the real carnival enthusiasts, we still bring a list of carnival hits that scored best in the Dutch Top 100 this year.

André van Duin’s song ‘Willempie’ was in first place for three weeks in 1976 in the then still Dutch Top 40. ‘K have very large cauliflowers’ and ‘Er is a horse in the hallway’ also turned out to be true hit material.

Today’s carnival hits score significantly less. There are only a handful of party songs in the Single Top 100 this week, but they do appear in the list.

Number 59 – Marco Schuitmaker
Folk singer Marco Schuitmaker is the highest-ranked party song in the Single Top 100 with his song Engelbewaarder. Last week he was still at number 72. The feast of fools has done well.

Number 68 – Jan Biggel
Jan Biggel returns this week at number 68 with his hit ‘Ons Moeder Zeej Nog’. Last year, the song was number fifteen on the list for 25 weeks. His new carnival song ‘If with us d’n hoan crows again’ does not appear in the list.

Number 76 and number 79 – Snollebollekes
The now recognizable song ‘Links, Rechts’ by the Snollebollekes makes a comeback at number 76. The song was released in 2015 and always returns in the hit list with carnival.

The new song ‘Hullemal Kapot’ comes in at number 79. The Snollebollekes are in the Top 100 for the twelfth time.

Number 96 – Wesly Bronkhorst
Closer of the party repertoire in the Single Top 100 is Wesly Bronkhorst with the song Amalia. The song was first at number 91 and therefore dropped a few places in the list during carnival.
