No Giant Gum Conditions at KULAK Baptism

A baptism that cannot be compared at all with that of the infamous student association Reuzegom in Leuven, the KULAK emphasizes. Student Sandi Dia lost his life there, the case will go before the Court of Appeal in March.

Robbe Bailleul, Praesidium Elysion : “We come from 200 and now there are still 150. That is of course a pity. You can also hear in the hallways that they are afraid of baptism. It is also a fixed rule with us that students are not allowed to swallow anything. They are not allowed to consume anything. We just throw things at them.”

The shafts follow a course on the campus itself. Those who pass will soon receive student discounts and may also participate in cantuses. The university itself may allow baptism, but she’s not really a fan. Koenraad Muylaert, responsible for student activities at KULAK: “For some students that is part of it. It is not something we at KULAK strive for, but we do allow it. We try to keep an eye on things and also make clear agreements. Then when it happens, we try to make it a connecting activity rather than a humiliating one.”
