No fight for Badr Hari: kickboxer withdraws due to Morocco earthquake

Badr Hari is not going to fight tonight. The 38-year-old kickboxer from Amsterdam with Moroccan roots was unable to enter the ring due to the earthquake in Morocco. Hari would be in action at Glory 88 against James McSweeney.

Before the final fight of the evening, Hari entered the ring. He announced with an emotional speech in Arabic that he would not fight. The kickboxer is too preoccupied with the earthquake in Morocco, which left more than thirteen hundred dead and more than twelve hundred people in a critical condition.

“I would rather support the people in Morocco than entertain a few people here for money, that does not make me a better person,” trainer Mike Passenier said about Hari’s motives to Videoland. “We’ll have to talk to Glory about how we’re going to solve it, but it will be fine.”
