No election results in Purmerend yet, counters overtired

All election results in Zaanstreek-Waterland are known, except for Purmerend. The municipality said at the end of the afternoon: “Last night the counting of the votes stopped because the counters became overtired.”

The municipality does announce that according to the provisional results, the BoerBurgerBeweging (BBB) is the winner for both elections in Purmerend. “Since it is important that this is done carefully, we continued with the count this morning. The results have therefore been delayed for a while,” the municipality said.

The attendance is already known. More residents came to the polls this year: the turnout percentage was 52.2 percent for the Provincial Council and 49.7 percent for the water board.

In 2019, that percentage was 51.95 percent at 48.45 percent for the Provincial States and water board elections in Purmerend and 64.2 at 62.21 percent in the former municipality of Beemster.

Zaanstad and Waterland

The wait also applied this afternoon for the results in Zaanstad and Waterland. BBB is now the big winner there too. Both followed by the VVD and GroenLinks.
