No catering experience, but entrepreneurial blood: teenagers from Hollandscheveld take over restaurant

An acquisition naturally requires a lot of capital. Both boys started their business early and have been able to put some money aside. Dean has been exporting used cars to various countries in Europe for a number of years. Ashwin had his own webshop on bol.com.

“We invested a large part of our savings in this,” explains Ashwin. Ultimately, that was not enough to take over the restaurant, until a generous donor came forward. “Our mother,” Dean says with a laugh. “She has invested a large part, because she sees a future in our company.

They are not bothered by staff shortages, they work with a small team consisting of friends and family. “Our mother is in the kitchen, she helps us with all the recipes. My girlfriend is now helping too,” says Dean. “It’s hard work, but as long as it goes well, it should work out,” adds brother Ashwin.

In the coming months, the brothers hope to work hard on branding the restaurant. They aim for more in the future. “We hope that we can open several branches in the Netherlands, that is the end goal.”
